Imaging with a purpose
The right image depends on the clinical question.
Dental images help a dentist examine structures that cannot always be assessed fully by sight alone. Different images show different areas and levels of detail, so a clinician should request the type that is appropriate for the individual patient and treatment plan.
Not every patient needs every type of scan. If you are unsure which appointment to arrange, contact our team or ask your treating dentist to confirm the requested image.

Our imaging options cover three-dimensional, whole-jaw, orthodontic and focused intraoral views.
OPG / panoramic X-rays
An OPG produces a broad two-dimensional view of the upper and lower jaws in one image. It can help a dentist review overall dental development, tooth position and wider jaw structures.
Lateral cephalometric X-rays
A lateral cephalometric image shows the head and jaws from the side. It is commonly requested to support orthodontic assessment and planning.
Intraoral PA and bitewing X-rays
These focused images examine a smaller area in greater detail. Periapical images show a tooth and its root area, while bitewings show the crowns of upper and lower teeth in the same region.

We welcome patients referred by external dental clinics for CBCT, OPG, lateral cephalometric, PA and bitewing imaging. We respect the referring clinic’s patient relationship and do not solicit referred patients for unrelated treatment.
Important reporting information
Amoah Dental does not provide radiologist reports. Referring clinicians remain responsible for arranging any interpretation or reporting their case requires.

Yes. We offer imaging-only appointments for patients referred by other dental clinics.
Will Amoah Dental provide a radiologist report?
No. We provide the imaging service but do not provide radiologist reports. Your referring clinician should arrange any interpretation or reporting required for your case.
How do I know which image I need?
The appropriate image depends on the clinical question. Ask your treating dentist to confirm the requested imaging type, or contact us with the details you have so our team can advise what needs clarification.
